Mixed weekend but good overall. Got couple of hours on Friday afternoon on the 12m until the wind died. (missed all the wind in the week waiting for MOT work on van) finally sorted Friday morning. Sat Morning was calm weather, but hung around and had a go on Neils skim board, with very limited success - just couldn't get enough speed going resulting in over sheeting and collapsing the kite in the very light winds. Will have another go with just a tad more wind. Went home mid afternoon and fixed van door which was coming off the runners (bit of welding and new bearings needed). Set alarm for Sunday morning and got back to Ynyslas before 9am. Cup of coffee and wind started building so time to unwrap the brand new 9m SwitchBlade. Awesome kite. So quick and very light bar pressure. Really good couple of hours and wind kept building and was getting overpowered. One bacon sandwich later and back out on my old 7m Xbow. Rain had set in and kite felt incredibly sluggish and heavy not at all like a 7m, perhaps the wind had eased and the wet kite probably didn't help. Also I found out at home that the pulleys on the bar has seized so that probably didn't help either :) I'm so glad the new kites don't have pulleys on the bar... Very tempted to buy the 7m switchblade and complete the set.
